Volunteer Opportunities
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering provides support for nonprofits and people in need, as well as significant personal benefits that can positively impact someone's health and well-being. It connects individuals to their community, fosters social interaction, and helps build a sense of purpose.
The Sutter Yuba Homeless Consortium is partnered with many agencies in the local area who are making an impact in our communities. Many of these agencies are often in need of volunteers. You can learn more about volunteer opportunities at the following agencies in our local community by clicking on their names.

SYHC Point-In-Time Count
Once every two years, SYHC performs an Unsheltered count of those experiencing homelessness in Sutter & Yuba Counties.
The next count will be in January of 2027. If you are interested in being part of this important opportunity to help bring funding into the area, please contact the SYHC at 530-632-5761.
Help us do the most good. Our programs are made possible because of generous volunteers that give back to their communities in a variety of ways.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of REST and REST offers a variety of volunteer opportunities to suit a multitude of personalities, abilities, and schedules. If you are interested in volunteering for REST or would like more information.

You meet the nicest people at Hands of Hope

Whether working in the Towel Room sorting toiletries and filling gift bags for our clients, organizing the Clothes Closet, working in the Office or helping children in the Early Childhood Center or the K-12 room, there's always something to do and someone to talk to. Volunteers are fingerprinted, have completed a background check, and are trained for service with Hands of Hope.
